Fun to play, annoying to use

I do thoroughly enjoy the actual gameplay of this game, but I find it severely annoying to always need to be connected to the Internet in order to use it. There should be some sort of offline option offered.
Also, once in a while when I go to use the game it seems to need to download something large, but I have no idea what its downloading.
Overall its a good game, but I dont always have access to Internet and would like to be able to play it offline.
